WATERCOLOR

Watercolor is a transparent, fluid, and unpredictable medium, uniquely challenging to the painter.

The brilliancy of its colors originates in the pure white of a paper support, and the artist superimposes his tones dark on light, never the reverse.

Unlike the oil painter, who can simply cover false starts, the water colorist must create his effects alla prima - on the first try.
